I would say that peptides are indeed safe. There has been a lot of research surrounding them and a lot of ideas have been tossed around the scientific community regarding them.
One study in 2000 indicates that peptides do not cause cancer, citing :
"Some cancers do produce these peptides, particularly the CJC-1295. If you put an end blocker, an antagonist of this peptide into those cells growing in culture, you can slow the growth of the tumour down. However, nobody's shown that giving injections of this stuff promotes cancer."
