Interesting observation from former mega-doser, about to dose again.
Many of you know my past results from reddit and on the old board.
When I started into the whole thing in 2012 I was somewhere around
a type 3, burn in spring, peel and then tan, be fairly resistant to sun
barring overdose of UV for the rest of the year.
My last dose was around the end of Jan, 2014 and I was VERY dark.
I'm about to buy and resume, and hope to be able to score an insulin
pump for this round. My skin never really returned to my native color
but is not much more than a normal summer tan.
With this plan in mind (to begin around September 1) I broke out the
old incandescent sun lamp (yeah, the kind that are banned). And did
6min at around 30-36" and got NO CHANGE. Skipping a day and doing
the max of 10-11min that the timer would turn to and although some
areas (cheeks and shoulders) got warm, see little or no color change.
I'm wondering if my skin is still 'protected' even though I'm not very
tan? Or have my melanocytes been desensitized to my natural MSH?
I guess time will tell, I'll visit the salon that I still have some tans left
at, maybe today and see if I can get any progress.
For months after some parts of my body, namely lips seemed to get
darker with very little sun, but as of this writing I don't even see much
there.

Anyone seen this before?
Re: Interesting observation from former mega-doser, about to dose again.
It seems some users skin chemistry changes and they never return to their natural color/melanotan has LONG lasting effects... It makes me sad a bit, why should melanotan affect me long-term if I don't want it to.
As far as desensitization of the receptor that is an interesting theory. In the anabolic world that is a known mechanism when the body is flooded with androgens there is a "down-regulation" of receptors to even everything out. I'm not sure if the same is true for the melanocortin system. Any other insight from anyone?
I will say that my MT2 results have never been great as my very first cycle I ever did... and I'm sure this is probably true for all the other MT2 users as well.
Re: Interesting observation from former mega-doser, about to dose again.
just observing your own body some times you don't see the changes , ask friends or some one you have known for a time if they notice any change as for the lip thing that is why it is recommended that you use sun screen on them , have seen lips purple from MT2 and too* much sun

there is a old saying "if you want to dance you have to pay the fiddle." meaning you have to take the good with the bad .

Ok, either something is wrong with my home lamp or I just need to do more of it.
Went for 16min in the cancer coffin yesterday and got a bit burnt but skin is for
sure responding. I use those stickers to chart the before / after and although it
is not as quickly noticeable as when on the juice, by 6hrs or so I could easily see
the mark.

Appreciate your perspective very much thatredditguy, thank you for sharing. On a couple occasions, I can recall (~5yrs ago) being surprised with how my skin performed without the benefit from recent melanotan injections.... Never encountering a sunburn since first go around with mt2, I have been impressed by the photo-protection benefits and not necessarily tanning ability (just not turning red while enjoying the elements is what it's all about imo). Definitely consider it a blessing to have SPF + aMSH working to protect my skin type 1 fairness!
trg, how do you think you'd respond to low dose therapy (ie.: 300mcg most days of the week)?

Dunno, I am presuming this stuff is 'serum level' ie the loading phase
where nothing happens is ramping up to the take action point.
Pigment loss w/o sun would vary by skin type.
At 6mos I'm still kinda almost latino looking, this is with sun only from
a rather cool summer so far. I think for me 1/2mg every 2-3days may
keep whatever tan, without uv. so 10-15mg/month or so. Maybe less
in summer and more in winter. Hard to say.

Ok, a week in and hit 20min in level 1 bed. Seeing darkening of
the already tan areas of hands / forearms and my lips. YAY!
Will increase to 25min tomorrow or wednesday. I have about 15
sessions left on the prepaid membership, they are open 6days so
That's going to take me almost to the end of the month or will be
if I pace it and skip a few days.
Will then look at buying a level 3 membership or block of tans!

How much is dosing you now and how often you take sunbed?
"
I am into vial 3, one sunbed of 20min so far, seeing
beginning results on feet and lips etc.
Planning on either laying out or going for 20-25min today.
