    Melanotan 2

I've been using the melanotan 2 every summer for the past 5 years. This summer my daughter decided to try it as well. She called me yesterday to tell me that she has blister like bumps on her belly and back, and asked me if I thought it could be related to the melanotan. I got online and googled melanotan, started reading and became VERY scared. I read that this stuff is causing heart palpitations, heart failure, blindness, and kidney failure. I also read that the filler that is put in melanotan ranges from being dust to metal. After reading all this info i got to realizing that 4 years ago is when i started needing glasses to read, and my heart palpitations began 2 years ago. At this point I'm ready to throw away my remaining melanotan, and see a doctor. I'm wondering if anyone else has had medical problems from use of this product...

Elaborate on palpatations though, the word is massively misunderstood.* Do you have any other symptoms?* When was your last blood test etc?* I wouldn't worry too much, nobody has dropped dead due to Melanotan, you'll inevitably have read about one girl who died on a sunbed but she was a fucking TANK and had enlarged organs, the coroner couldn't link it to melanotan at all.

I have to admit I had a bad reaction to it but that's just me.* Your daughters blisters are potentially linked but again, I doubt it - she needs to see a GP/dermatologist and have it investigated.*

Also, how old are you?* I need glasses but don't wear them!* If I took Melanotan and my eyesight deteriorated, I'd naturally blame it...get what I mean?

Perhaps you could link the studies where these effects were observed? I have only seen data suggesting that MT2's nonspecific activation of MC3R are actually protective in relation to heart function]
It sounds like your daughter may be allergic to the melanotan, and your vision/heart issues probably hereditary. Don't give anecdotal reports too much credit; they are not controlled environments and there are simply too many variables that contribute to outcomes.

I wish you and your daughter well!

John, elaborating on the palpitations, I feel flutters, like I've a butterfly in my chest where my heart is. No pain, only flip flop feelings that last anywhere from one flutter, to two hours worth. I never thought it was related to the melanotan, until I started googling last night, reading all the 'STAY AWAY FROM THIS STUFF' sites. I've no other symptoms,* and have had awesome luck each summer ive used the melanotan. I couldn't tell you when my last blood test was done, two summers ago if im recalling correctly. White cell count was low, nothing further was tested. How do you know no one has dropped dead from it? I mean, most people that are using this product keeps it very quiet. So unless looking specifically for it, it could easily be missed. Daughter went to dr today, she was told that she has shingles, and that it is something that is already in the system for those that have had chicken pox. Dr didnt know what had caused it to come to the surface. My guess is maybe from laying in an unclean tan bed. And yeah, I know, I cant fairly blame this stuff for my eyesight worsening,* im just going off of what I've researched the long term effects to be. I did read that freckles can not only increase on your skin, but can also develop behind the eyes due to the melanotan.
I guess my million dollar question is, if this stuff is safe, then why is it not fda approved? Why is it illegal to take? And also WHO is making it? I use to buy from a supplier that sold 99.9% pure, this spring when I ordered 10 mg I couldnt find my usual website that I buy from. I chose another vendor, but what I got was only 99.3% pure. Is that more dangerous? After all, it has more 'filler' in it.

Do some research on melanocortin receptors as related to MT2. I can assure you its doing more than just producing pigmentation. We are all different and react to agents differently. In the end though, it's your responsibility to decide on using or not.

You can get plenty of tests done on your heart dude, I've had ectopic heartbeats for my whole life, some things exacerbate it, mt2 is one if them.*

The regulatory system is structured such that innovators of medicine can only treat a specific ailment. Because MT2 has a wide spread effect, there is no market for the product. There is nothing illegal about taking melanotan. Custom peptide synthesis manufacturers make high purity products, misunderstanding purity and filler is common. I am 99% certain your 99.9% pure mt claim was fraudulent marketing and not an independent hplc analysis report (best mt-2 I ever used and lab tested was 99.1% pure).

Yeah. Plus when you factor in legalizing MT2 would probably result in people using it along with sunbeds throughout the winter to stay tan, it could obviously be a dangerous cocktail in terms of skin cancer risks. Especially at a time when skin cancer rates are rocketing in young people, I personally can't see it being legalized any time soon.

MT1 aka Scenesse seems to be making some headway on gaining clinical approval as a treatment for people with certain skin conditions, which is pretty cool.

That should read approved, not legalized!
