I am looking for some advice, if anyone can help me!?
I am very interested in starting MTII - i am a natural redhead skintype 1 and am interested in building up a base colour before going on holiday for 2 weeks in the sun in August, i have no idea how much i should purchase, how often i should inject and how much so i can build this tan before August 2012. How long should i give myself to build up the tan and how often should i go on a sunbed, i have never sunbathed before and i always burn. I will not be able to bring MTII on the holiday with me, and am wondering if i'll still be able to tan on the sun holiday in August or if i need to still be taking MTII during the holiday to get a tan? I also forsee problems with storing the Melanotan in a fridge as i will not be telling my other half about this - he strongly disagrees ]
I suppose i have other reservations such as unknown side effects of taking a drug that has not been approved for sale and also darkening of hair and moles etc. So any advice from individuals that are skin type 1 or any readheads out there would be greatly appreciated!!
welcome littleone, thanks for the great topic - hope to answer as many questions as possible
In order to build up a base tan to enjoy/utilize for your trip in August, earlier the better in terms of start date.* With the luxury of time on your side, no need to purchase more than 20-30mg (2-3 Melanotan II vials) for an initial investment.* Secret for Melanotan 2 success is to dose low & get controlled UVR.* The first Melanotan 2 vial should yield 20-40 injections (should take 2-3 months to use $100 worth of MT-2) - measure the dosage carefully - avoiding overdosing helps avoid side effects and pigmentation chaos. Melanotan injections are water soluble peptide hormones that last minutes in teh body - dosing frequently helps to acclimate the body & desensitize (lessen side effects from histamine response/etc).*
Building up a base tan with Melanotan peptides will help while on vacation, for protection - don't stay out in the sun long as you will not continue to get darker...had you overexpose while not on the synthetic melanocyte stimulating hormone...burning/turning red is a significantly higher possibility - when given the choice (as a skin type 1), I always import MT2 for vacation use - fyi
Thank you for the response. Some fantastic advice there, you really know your stuff*
If i go ahead and purchase the 20-30mg of the MT2 it will take around 3 months of injections and controlled UVR - so would that be using around .3mg a day for 3 months? How long should i go on the sunbed for and should i use sunscreen on the sunbed at the start, I do plan to always use sunscreen on my face, but not sure how high a factor to use, any suggestions? I would still like a little tan on my face.
After completion of the 3 vials - how long will the tan last before needing to purchase another, do people usually take breaks when they are happy with their level of colour? I suppose i will probably start in June 2012 to build up the colour nicely before my trip, i don't know about bringing MT2 along with me, as I will be with the other half and don't want him finding out!! So that is out of the question, unless it is in nasal spray form, do you think that could help me go a little darker??
The other half is worried about me injecting something that has not completed the relevant clinical trials and has not been approved for use. Do you know if there is any way i could get away with not refridgerating it?
I know it's a lot of questions and I really appreciate the time you take to help and value your opinion greatly* ]
p.s. if any skin type 1 or redheads have any before and after pictures i would LOVE to see some* ;D
appreciate the compliment little, learning & sharing mistakes is the aim for the forum here
20-30mg of 3 months takes patience/diligence - using small doses, I would listen to my body.* After a few or so on the peptide, tanning ability can become on your radar - meaning when/if freckles become darker...take note as your pigment is changing and may be able to introduce tanning.*
Tan carefully - in a lay down bed or stand up...drape extra towels/protection over the face and be sure to moisturize.* Tanning ~5min (give or take a couple) should be sufficient each visit...* Generally only use a little sunscreen on scars and tattoos I have trouble covering...you know best! The face will tan fast, so lookout
Melanotan II use to me is a lifestyle product I have utilized for years. I continue use because of the look and environmental protection. Seasons, travel and events dictate usage. Goal is to use the least amount possible - after 3 vials are used, hard to forecast predictions
Starting in June should be enough time - your other half will find out fast, unsure about concealing....could be a great topic had anyone be talented/skilled enough to use secretly (most friends and family will know you are not rocking a permanent mystic tan on skin type 1...worse they may think you are pregnant tanning with all your melanin activity)
If it makes your other half happier, why not look to the less effective/safer profile peptide Melanotan 1?* Melanotan 1 will need more time, money and effort....
I was wondering if possible you could come up with a plan for loading MTII for a redhead? I plan to have a good tan built up before a trip I’m taking in August of this year, as I do not want to travel with MTII.* I have plenty of time to work with, I wouldn’t mind starting to load slowly from April or May, as it is the middle of winter here in Ireland at the moment.
My main concern is I would like to keep it from my partner ( My natural type 1 skin tone is constantly hidden under self-tans, fake tans and bronzers so he would not notice the change in skin tone) so I would like to inject just once a day to keep it as simple as possible.
Another major concern I have is moles and freckles,* I understand my freckles (which are now complete faded) will come back, I don’t mind this too much as I can cover them with makeup, and hopefully at some stage they will blend into the colour of my skin, but would like to avoid them going too dark if at all possible? I also have a few moles on my body the one’s I am worried about are on the side of my face and* under by chin, which are not very noticeable at the moment as they are skin coloured, but I am worried that these will these go black in colour and they be very hard to disguise then?
While refreshing myself on the thread, I have a couple thoughts.* First, since MT-II has some unknown side effects (long term) & extreme darkening capability - maybe the direction should be a safer, more therapeutic approach involving the original Melanotan peptide. While I believe the systemic Melanotan II peptide is safe (safe enough for Bremelanotide clinical trial), Melanotan 1 has greater clinical data...had that make your other half & yourself feel better about safety. Of course the Melanotan implant is still being developed and there are no easy means of administration/application/instructions/etc...but the sterile multi-use vials of the research peptide MT-1 offers a lot of versatility.
The main concern about keeping usage from someone who is not your husband/wife is an aspect I have troubles with.* It's nobodies business but your own - if you want a friend or a doctor to hear you out either on the subj...good luck - not likely gonna happen (in any intelligent capacity) - these peptides are a decade away from the mainstream radar/understanding. Sounds miserable to hide under hassles of self-tans, fake tans and bronzers... My prediction is the freedom Melanotan peptides can potentially offer you are more than just photoprotection Melanotan 1 use will be easier to conceal than MT-II (however being a red-head, MT-II may be necessary for adequate results and vacation/leisure goals).
Glad pigmentation concerns were brought up, as these can become highly relevant. I have few moles and a low population of freckles...so I consider myself prime candidate for the extreme peptide Melanotan II. Of a thousand freckles (rough estimation), after melanotan usage + UVR exposure...maybe a dozen freckles are noticed..which otherwise would've been unlikely to enter my consciousness.* I think your make-up strategy and awareness is a big leg-up/advantage. Instead of disguising, I would urge patience and acceptance.* If you have a super dark pigmentation ...which you will know the cause... you can likely predict/forecast a darker tan to soon surround the issue (learn from the overly emotional gay-man who sees the extreme change and then moves to the extreme laser/cosmetic therapy(chemical peels/etc) to impulsively correct misunderstandings...sorry, rant off), becoming an non-issue asap.
