    Help! Burnt my arm

I don't know if it is because of trying the tanning bed but my right arm seemed to be burned. The rest of my body looks okay after one session, I was red. And then when I went home, I saw that my right arm looks really different. Then it became itchy in the night. The next day, I saw it peeling and really dark like burnt. I use MT2 and a little sunscreen before I went to get tanned. I also work in a construction firm so sometimes I have to be on site.

How long were you in the bed for?
    What is your skin type?
    What factor SPF cream?

Melanotan doesn't stop you burning, it helps you produce a tan faster than normal. The tan is what stops you from burning.

I am a type 1 and I haven't been burned. Maybe you stayed too long in the bed that is why. You can just have that checked by a dermatologist. It could be an allergic reaction or whatever. I am not an expert. This is one reason why some people think that tanning beds are evil. Sometimes, we just have to think of what really happened before we blame other things about it.

I think you should go see a doctor immediately before it develops into something serious.

How much did you take? And how long did you stay in the tanning bed? It is just interesting to note that it's just your arm that got burned because if you did the same regimen to the rest of your body before you went in, then you should be "burned" whole. Maybe you put less sunscreen on that part or something. Go see a doctor.

Go see a dermatologist if it is burned. You may have done something extra on it. Don't blame MT2.

Some people get scared of tanning beds because of things like this. Just be careful next time, and check what you use before you hit the bed again. Good luck to you, OP!

Better have it checked. It must be an allergy or something. I have been trying this for like how many times now and so far so good. I haven't had that experience yet. It is possible that you might have done something wrong. But if it's just one part of your body, there might have been an allergic reaction of sorts. Go seek a pro.

If its just a burn off a tanning bed then I wouldn't have thought that there's any reason to panic and go and see a specialist just yet. Just use aftercare lotion on it for now and see how that goes.

Obviously if it gets worse I'd book an appointment with the doctor but I don't think your at that stage just yet.

I think it was definitely the tanning bed. This has happened to me before, and if you add that you’re exposed to the sun then this is the reason. MT2 is not a sunblock, you have to get tanned before acquiring some resistance to the sun. But, if you were worried that MT2 is having a weird or side effect I don’t think so, you simply burned. Now, if this continues then you should go to the doctor, and I strongly advise you to use a 50spf on that arm when you’re working and cover it up.
