Do you need to refrigerate it? Confused about what guide says
The guide says with bac water it can be used 2 months. Does this mean that if I'm planning on using it in a 30 day span I'm totally cool? I haven't read room temp is okay elsewhere.
Re: Do you need to refrigerate it? Confused about what guide says
I do not refridgerate my water, but I also use more and discard every month or so.
The nature of 'bacteriostatic' is that it has preservative in it.
Still is not going to HURT to refridgerate it.
And/or freeze pre-filled syringes (goot idea for what I consider micro dosing).
Bare in mind that to me 1mg is a small dose. But I'm also looking for WAY more
color than most here.
Re: Do you need to refrigerate it? Confused about what guide says
Benzyl alcohol (BnOH) is strong enough to 'fight off' minor bacterial contamination at room temp, if you're using dirty needles or no swabs then it's definitely not advised to do it more than once or twice.
If you're using clean needles and swabs (correctly) then it'll be fine for a while at room temp.
If you chuck it in the fridge you've got two barriers, the BnOH and the temperature.
At 2-7C it's too cold for most bacteria to function, and thus they get broken down by the BnOH easier.
Repeated freeze-thaw cycles are not advised, due to the fact that BnOH can be denatured.
Preloading syringes and then only thawing the individual dose when needed is fine, though.

If I do refrigerate it, can it be in a fridge full of food and stuff?

Yep, that's perfectly fine.
Depending how your fridge is controlled it may be worth investing in a fridge thermometer, even a basic paper one will be fine.
Many are chilled from the bottom, causing the bottom to be very cold, and the top to be warmer.
When this can range from ~ -2C - 10C (IIRC) you need to be careful where you place it to make sure it's in the right range, or to make sure your fridge is set out correctly (large plastic bags/containers near the bottom can stop the chiller functioning correctly).
Re: Do you need to refrigerate it? Confused about what guide says
A vial that would contaminate food would be HORRID for sub-q injection.
Just sayin..
Other advice, make sure stopper stays up, if there is any internal pressure they can
ooze out mt. Not hazardous but hard on the wallet.
Re: Do you need to refrigerate it? Confused about what guide says
If the stopper needs to stay up, how would you manage it when travelling, keeping it inside of a suitcase,....
What if you preserve it in another type of bottle?
Re: Do you need to refrigerate it? Confused about what guide says
I'm not sure it's that much of an issue, at least with our vials.
I've never lost solution; and I always maintain positive pressure (+10IU) in my vials to make drawing doses quicker, and they occasionally get knocked over in the fridge.
You'd also need to insert a decent amount of extra air for it to be noticeable.
You could always ensure you have equilibrium or slightly negative pressure if it's an oft experience for you.

200 mcg and I don't think so, I'll look for that more next time. Don't think I was irresponsible with mixing or anything and I'm pretty sure the supplier is legit.. Hm.

Could just be that you didn't feel anything. It's a pretty low dose so not unusual.
