More Info on the lady that died after using Melanotan!
Hi yall. Some of you from the old .org board might remember the popular story that caused some unrest about using melanotan. Basically a 26 year old lady named Jenna Wilson-Vickers was found dead in a tanning booth after having used Melanotan for a few weeks. Alot of people were frightened that maybe the Melanotan played or a role or entirely caused her death and some people stopped using it. This is not new news but I just found an article that said Melanotan likely had nothing at all to do with her death and the most likely cause was her own obesity. Here is the article:
But the inquest found she died from heart failure linked to obesity.
Miss Wilson-Vickers had struggled with her weight and was 25st (350lbs) at the time of her death.
A pathologist told the inquest that while medical research into Melanotan II was limited, in his opinion it had nothing to do with her death.
"I would say it has nothing to do with her death, that would be my conclusion."
Even though I suspected MT2 wasnt the cause, this definitely puts me a little more at rest hearing it officially. Hopefully other people will be happy to hear as well.
Re: More Info on the lady that died after using Melanotan!
Imo the scare with the compound is mostly due to the mass media hype(and often scare mongering) about melanoma and melanin education in recent years.
All you have to say to* a vast majority of the population is "melanin" and they will automatically think of skin cancer.
So when they hear of a compound called "melanotan" and find out it effectively injecting melanin they think you are practically injecting skin cancer.
It's really just miseducation about the body, sun and the compound.
I'm not saying it is bad that the media have mass awared the risks of the sun, but they did this wrong and only achieved a mass sun phobia. they handled it in the worse way possible!
