I have never used Melanotan 2 before but today placed an order for some to give it a test run. I have a couple questions however, the first being this, if you are already using a tanning bed and have a base tan going will you be more or less susceptible to freckling and moling and should you possibly use a less amount in your start up phase? Secondly, I am a female so I am also concerned about darkening of facial or arm hair can you give me any info on this? I really don't want to look like sasquatch or anything!
Thanks for any info you can provide I appreciate your time!*
Hey Tracy, thanks for posting your question.* Never heard of Melanotan II changing arm hair (male or female) also never heard of the female facial hair concerns...maybe someone else can chime in (think you are safe however).*
Being in the routine of tanning, you are not any more or less susceptible to melanotan II & UVR induced dark freckles/moles.* Difficult to predict your particular balance.* Of course it is best to dose as low as possible and receive the least amount of controlled UV exposure from the tanning bed.
Do you have a dosing strategy we could critique?* Why MT-II?* Goals?*
Thanks for the reply I appreciate all the info I can get on this* subject. As far as the dosing strategy I was thinking along the lines of either 1/3 or 1/2 the start up phase dose and then increase dosage per side effects to usual start up phase dosing. That's what I'm thinking as of now anyhow. Any input or suggestions on this? Also, at first I was leaning toward Melanotan 1 but after some more research I decided to go with MT 2 because from what I've read it takes twice the amount of MT 1 to achieve similiar results, even though from what I understand it is easier for your body to metabolize MT 1. My goal in using MT 2 is so I can cut down UV exposure not only for health reasons but for vanity as well. If there is something that can give us "tanorexics" our glow we love with less risks and wrinkles then it is money well spent in my opinion. It is something I am willing to try after much reading. I will update progress as soon as I receive my MT 2 and get started. Thanks for your time. I appreciate it.*
Really like these preparation threads/questions...very nice way to get started.* Dosing your MT-2 low, as compared to dosing MT-1 high, should yield results you are after.* Your expectations are on par* 8)*
What is your skin type?* Each skin type 1, 2, and 3 can have varying strategy
After some more reading on this forum, which I love by the way, I have decided that my skin type is a 2.5, lol, somewhere between a type 2 and 3. With moderate tanning bed use I can slowly build a decent base tan. After that point I can get to what I would describe as a medium golden tan. Only once, after a beach vacation and mega sun exposure have I ever been what I would describe as DARK. In other words it takes a lot of UV exposure to get moderately good results. This is a big reason for trying MT 2, after years of UV rays I am ready to change my way of thinking though it is hard to wrap my head around when you roll old school, lol! I hope I get good results like most people on this forum seem to be experiencing. My plan is to take a Zyrtec and maybe half of a Phenergan (which I have just found out is not only for nausea but acts as an antihistamine too) to help with any nausea approx. one hour before injecting the recommended dose of .25 mg. I think on day 1 I may just do one .25 mg. evening dose however and see how it goes. If well tolerated will move to two .25 mg. doses on day two and so on. Slow and steady to find dose that will work right for me. Now know that is very crucial to keep* face and especially lips covered while in tanning bed and use a good sunscreen on when exposed to outdoor UV rays. Like I say that's a new way of thinking for me after all these years but am looking forward to less sun damage and less time to being a "tanning slave". Thanks for your time!

This post made my day!* What an excellent approach, kudos* ]Excited to hear your success story tracy
Hey Chris, thought I might post an update. So after some delay, thanks to being somewhat under the weather for awhile, I finally started my MT2 dosing on 5/8/11 with a .15 mg evening dose preceded one hour in advance with a Zyrtec. No side effects noted. On 5/9 did a .20 mg evening dose. No side effects noted. On 5/10 did a .20 evening dose. No side effects noted. And today 5/11 I moved up to the .25 mg evening dose. No side effects noted. So as you can see I started out with baby steps and also have not added any UV exposure as yet but plan to do that in the next few days. I always take a Zyrtec at least one hour before injecting to help with any side effects. I haven't really experienced any side effects as of yet...maybe a little appetite reduction but also have been fighting a sinus infection which could be responsible so may have to see how that one goes! I am planning on staying on the .25 mg each evening for now and adding some limited UV exposure to see what happens. Will keep you updated! Thanks for all your help!* P.S. One little detail that I had was buying the syringes without thinking about the needle length that I would need for the MT2 vial's rubber stopper. I bought 3/8 inch length and they were not long enough to go through the stopper. So had to purchase 1/2 inch needle length so as to clear the vial's stopper all the way! Don't know if anyone else has had this issue but it may be a good thing to note before buying syringes.
