You Can Fight City Hall…And Win!

After eight long years, I can announce good news.  Last week, the Michigan Senate voted 26-12 to repeal the idiotic Michigan Dietetic Nutrition Licensing Law passed in 2006.  This followed the Michigan House vote last year.  This was a bi-partisan effort.  Our Governor has said he will sign the bill into law.

Now, we can close all those “nutrition prisons” in Michigan.  Perhaps all who have been fined and imprisoned for telling a fellow citizen to eat a better diet will be released.  😉     (That is a joke–the nutrition police did not have time to set up their prisons).

Congratulations to everyone who fought this ridiculous law.  This victory proves that our elected representatives will work for us–if we make our voices heard.

Thank you to Representative McBroom and Senator Tony Rocca who spearheaded the effort.  Michigan will be a better state without this law.

Hopefully, the other states that passed similar versions of this ridiculous law will follow Michigan’s lead and vote to repeal it.

Unfortunately the FDA limits what a person who has health education can say about non-drug health practices even if they are not selling anything in the way of supplements, etc. directly.

I see this regularly on David Wolfe’s programs.

Not sure how limited us ordinary folks are if we don’t sell anything.

Wish congress would remove the gag orders regarding truthful claims for various non-drug items like supplements and physicians like Andrew Weil are not threatened so strongly for giving very useful info re the immune system.

Information about Vitamin B12 deficiency symptoms is so limited, especially where MDs are concerned, that both
young and old are being treated for non-existent diseases instead of being diagnosed correctly. I watched a
video on YouTube about that yesterday.

Thanks for the update Dr. Brownstein. Too bad that your joke is a reality in certain other areas where we have ridiculous rules and restrictions that equally need to be fought and overturned. It feels like matters like this are rarely decided in favor of the people or common sense on the Federal level, so I love seeing that we can at least hope to be heard on the state level.
