Is it time to get your flu vaccine? I guess I could say “yes” if the flu vaccine actually worked and did not contain toxic additives. However, the opposite is true: It doesn’t work and it contains mercury and formaldehyde. The toxicity of the flu vaccine is reason enough to avoid it.
The CDC and the Powers-That-Be love to tell us that we should get the flu vaccine. They state that 25-30,000 people per year die from the flu. That simply is not true as I have told you in previous blog posts and in my Natural Way to Health Newsletter.
A recent report in JAMA (December 24/31, 2014, Vol. 312 N. 24) shows how ineffective the flu vaccine is. The U.S. Navy has a mandatory flu vaccine policy. In February of 2014, 25% of the 102 crew members on a minesweeper developed flu-like symptoms. Of the 25 crew members who developed the flu, 24 had been vaccinated (96%). Laboratory testing indicated that 20 sailors had subtype H3N2 which was matched for last-years flu vaccine.
Think about that: 96% who contracted the flu were vaccinated for it, and the vaccine matched the strain they became ill from. This year’s flu vaccine (2014-2015) missed the most common circulating strain, yet The-Powers-That-Be keep telling us to get the flu vaccine.
For once, I am speechless.
Not really.
Think about this: if the flu vaccine cannot protect young men who are at the prime of their lives, can anybody expect it to protect old and sick people? The flu vaccine was originally developed to help the elderly and the vulnerable in our population avoid the flu. However, there are zero studies showing the flu is effective in these populations. Now, we have a report it is not effective in the young and healthy.

What is really comical (stupid!) is the commentators on here complaining that the non vaccinated are a danger to those who are vaccinated! “Your refusal to participate in vaccination program places sane people like me at greater risk.” Really? So your vaccination doesn’t work then? Make up your mind!
My functional med DO said if I take any vaccine it should be the shingles vaccine. I’ve seen questions in this thread but no answers regarding pneumonia and shingles vaccines. I would guess that what’s “true” for one is true for all. I haven’t taken the flu vaccine since early 2000 and have been flu-free since then…but I guess I do wonder about the others.

Sorry to change the subject, but what about the shingles vaccine? There is a heavy push on those now. My husband has them now and seeing him in pain is about to push me to it…..almost. Is there another blog that addresses this?

Thank you so much for your blogs…for your wisdom and knowledge. I was to have an interview with a hospital last week. One of their policy’s upon hire was the flu shot. I told them I would refuse and why. They then told me the interview was off because it was mandatory that all new and current employees receive this shot. Sad.
A point to be stressed is that whatever is taken orally goes through the filters of the digestive system before reaching the blood. Shots do not.
If the Creator had intended for us to get shots he would have made us with ports! Just kidding to make a point I am aware that certain kinds of injections can be lifesaving like alternative cures for cancer that are working exceedingly well. The injection of substances proved to be toxic do not fit the “lifesaving” criterion!
I absolutely love and totally agree with the last two replies by Lisa Harper and Judy and I now have even more responses for those who pressure me to get vaccines. Thank you!
To the lady who mentioned “herd mentality”, if a member of the herd runs off the edge of the cliff, the rest of the herd follows. It is time to stop running off the vaccine cliff. There is no river of life below … it is a killing rocky bottom.
I’m looking to see the flu shot signs at your nearest Starbucks.. Drive up to the window and be asked (would you like a flu shot with that?) it’s insane. Our immune system can be built up and that does not entail getting a shot. Get on a good probiotic,’rests, exercise, eat the right foods. Common sense people. Quit wanting a quick fix. Our immune system lies in the gut and if we get that balanced then the immunity system is indeed boosted.
Why add toxin to our body?! Prevention by healthy eating, exercise, hygiene and avoiding stress as much as possible.

I have never had the vaccine and have never had the flu. There are currently family and patients all around who have had the vaccine and are in various stages of flu/ recovery. Some have been hospitalized with no relief. I spend a great deal of time working with folks digestive systems as it is here I have gotten the best results in improving the immune system.

The flu is going around my family right now. My husband fought it for a week. He had the flu shot. My son (21 months) was diagnosed on Saturday and spent the night in the hospital because he has croup on top of it. No flu shot for him or my other 2 kids, nor myself. My oldest is fine. My middle child is fighting something as has been for many days. Can’t say for sure if it is the flu. The nurse told me that they wanted to hold off giving my son the flu shot until he was over it. What on earth is the point!? He has it. He is fighting it. We are doing our best. As for me, I have upped my intake of Vitamin D and C. I am drinking ginger tea and taking garlic tablets. I have a cough and that is it. I know I could still get it but I will take my chances. No flu shot for me!
Just so you are aware, the reason hospitals are now getting so crazy about the flu shot is that the Joint Comission is requiring hospitals to have a 90% vaccination rate by 2020. I am an MD who was faithful to the whole shot culture until an incredibly nasty reaction in 1998. That sent me to the medical literature, where it became clear very quickly that flu shots are essentially worthless. Our hospital leadership at least has the common sense to not require a shot with a history of bad reactions; you just have to wear a mask all winter.
I love these comments. I was at a holiday party when, in the group of 6 or 7 people, one person asked, “Who got their flu shot?” Everyone raised their hand except me. They couldn’t believe when I said, “I’ve never had one”. Then the conversation went to the new pneunomia vaccine! Sheeple!!!

My mom a few years back was told she had to get the flu vaccine. She worked for interior health
She told them if they could guarantee no adverse side effects she would do it.
Thy could not but made it clear she would not get paid if she got
Sick an required time off. She did not get the flu shot and did not get sick.
She never had arguments after that and had just retired. Stand our ground and get written proof it’s safe.
They can’t do it so should not be able to force you if you do thing correctly
Several years ago my husband & I were on a drive to Colorado. I made sure I got a pneumonia shot the day before we left. Always had taken the flu shot. I got deathly sick & had to remain in the motel room the whole weekend while others went out. I was still sick on the way back to Wisconsin. No shots since then for me!!!
Spent 3 hours in an empty ED last night with my sick husband. Was told by the ED doctor that he had the Influenza Type A virus after getting the results of the nasal swab they performed. He told my husband that even if he had gotten the vaccine this year it wouldn’t have mattered because it’s not working. I appreciated his candor since neither of us get the vaccine, but keep it quiet because of the vilifying that goes on towards the ‘unvaccinated’ in our community.

-The flu vaccine does NOT contain elemental mercury.
Thimerosal, which was included in older vaccines as a preservative, is an organic compound that breaks down to ethylmercury in the body. This is NOT the same as methylmercury, which is the poisonous form of mercury. Ethyl mercury does not accumulate in the body (which is the real problem with methylmercury) and many, many studies have proven that thimerosal is perfectly safe.
-Formaldehyde is SAFE (in small doses).
The body naturally produces formaldehyde as a part of normal biological processes. Our blood naturally contains 2-3 micrograms of formaldehyde per mL of blood at all times, and we are exposed to formaldehyde every hour of every day by doing such things as eating apples, carrots, pears and milk. In fact, our bodies REQUIRE formaldehyde in order to produce DNA and amino acids. The amount of formaldehyde contained in a single vaccine is several hundred times less than the amount our body produces in a single day and is four times LESS formaldehyde than you would be exposed to by eating an apple.
You also seem to be (deliberately) missing the point of the JAMA article. 75% of those who were vaccinated for the flu did not catch it! That’s a pretty good rate!

There are multiple studies that have found ethylmercury is a toxic substance. Go back to the 1950’s-1970’s when ethylmercury-containing fungicides poisoned many. A 2012 Italian study shoed that ethylmercury-containing Thimerosal diminished the viability of human cells at a concentration one-fiftieth that of merthylmercury. There are many animal studies that show ethylmercury is more toxic than methylmercury. And, ethylmercury does bioaccumulate in the body. It has a short half-life in the blood while it easily passes into the organs. Toxicology. 1975;3(2):171-6.
To think you can safely inject ethylmercury into any living being is idiotic.

Also, according to the CDC, 5-20% of the population get the flu. Only 25-45% of our population gets the flu shot and 5-20% of the population become ill from the flu. Contrast that with 100% of the sailors vaccinated and 25% ill with the flu. In other words the flu shot was a miserable failure for the sailors.

I hate to even admit this, but a few years ago I worked part-time for an occupational health company giving flu shots. At the time, I was personally against receiving flu shots for myself and for my children. About a month into it, however, I just couldn’t continue. I would like to say that this company discontinued the practice of immunizing factory workers, but I am certain that the practice continues.
I can speak up now that I am not employed by a big Health Care system that required all employees to get a flu vaccine! Not only last year but this year also! I believe it is all about money! They must be getting a kickback! Why would anyone take away your freedom of choice to get the vaccine or get fired! Ridiculous! Glad I am out of there!!
My wife (65) is a nurse; she still works part time (2 to 3 days a week).
For the second year her employer has made the flu vaccination mandatory. She knows about the risks but HAS to take it
against her will or she will lose her job.
Where have science, justice, fairness and freedom gone?

Thank you Dr B. I always believed that it was the right thing to do until I had a bad reaction from the vaccine in 2008. My arm swelled up …I felt ill and feverish. When I contacted the clinic where I received the vaccine, they pretty much told me it was normal and would disappear in a few days. The next year I saw my M.D and he asked me if I wanted the vaccine. I explained what happened with my previous experience and he told me that as long as I was healthy …. as far as he was concerned, I did not need it. And that was a regular family doctor. Not holistic. So there are doctors out there that will not tell you that you must get a flu vaccine. It’s the secular media that is pushing it for the CDC. A doctor like you will always make patients feel confident in the care you provide. Your high quality supplements and diet recommendations work. I am 72 years old and have never felt better! I received a flu vaccine in November. Within 6 hours I began developing flu symptoms which rapidly escalated over 2 hours, to the point I was short of breath, producing copious pulmonary secretions, sneezing, running fever, aches all over, and more.
It all came on so fast I was dressed ready to go the the ER, because if things became much worse my condition would be BAD. At the last minute my wife gave me 2 Benadryl and things gradually calmed down.
The vaccine had some additive for older populations to boost their immune system’s response, or something to that effect. I am a healthy 65 yo male. An older individual alone could have ended up dead.
I remember watching Dr. Oz being given his flu vaccine shot on his show a few years ago. I cringed.

I can’t believe that people still “buy” this vaccine crap. Its 2015, and we have many areas from which to get up to date information. Unfortunately, as you pointed out, the elderly or children of truly ignorant parents suffer the most. It seems almost unfathomable that as a lay person, I know more about preventatuve care than some of the doctors I have seen.
