After practicing medicine for over 20 years, I can state, with conviction, that medical ozone therapy is one of the most exciting therapies that I have seen.

Ozone is a colorless gas with a pungent odor. It is a molecule that is made up of three atoms of oxygen.  In contrast to the oxygen in the air that we breathe is made up of two atoms of oxygen. O3 is the chemical formula for ozone.

When ozone is injected into the human body, It quickly breaks down into oxygen–O2.  Therefore, ozone can be used to oxygenate our tissues.  Ozone has other positive effects in the body.  Ozone has been shown to:

  • Have anti-inflammatory properties
  • Increase muscle oxygenation
  • Improve fatigue states
  • Kill bacteria
  • Kill fungi and yeast
  • Kill viruses
  • Make people feel better
  • Regenerate cartilage in arthritic joints
  • Stimulate and regulate the immune system
  • And, much more!

Let me finish by showing you X-rays of an 80-year-old patient who was advised  by her orthopedic doctor to schedule a knee replacement surgery due to severe arthritis of her knee.  You can see from the pre-ozone X-ray that she is bone-on-bone on the outside of her knee joint (see left side of the knee joint where the bone collapsed).  This patient did not want to have a knee replacement and asked me if there were any therapies that she could do to rebuild her cartilage.  I suggested that ozone may help and told her that six ozone injections into the knee would be fair trial to see if ozone would work.

preozone-knee

After the third injection, the patient told me, “I don’t need any more shots—all the pain is gone.  This therapy worked great.  It is a miracle.”  When I examined her knee, all the grinding was gone and she now had full range of movement of her knee.  I sent her for a follow-up X-ray that day.  You can see in the post-ozone X-ray, she now has joint space on the lateral side of the knee where cartilage has regrown.

post-ozone-knee

My partners and I have used ozone in hundreds of patients for other conditions and we have seen many positive outcomes.

I wrote this book because medical ozone therapy works for a wide variety of conditions from fibromyalgia and fatigue to infectious arthritis.

Ozone therapy, when used appropriately, is safe and effective for many medical conditions.  I hope this book will push all medical schools to start teaching their students about the uses of ozone in a medical setting.

Ozone: The Miracle Therapy is $20.00 plus shipping and handling.  For the month of December, this book and all my books will be sold at a 10% discount—at $18.00 each.  After January 1, 2017, all books will be priced at $20.00 each.

    Dr. Brownstein,

Great work above! If you can manage in the future a pre and post MRI assessment on a similar patient. I would love to work up the imaging side and write up a case report with you. I would have to believe several journals with medical gas science behind them might want to publish it or even just a generic cases style journal.

      Brent,
I am a member of Ozone Without Borders which you can find here: http://www.ozonewithoutborders.ngo/home.html
They will shortly have a list of all ozone providing practitioners. For right now, I would suggest working with a holistic health care provider who can hopefully guide you to someone doing ozone. You can find someone here: http://www.icimed.com.

How can I get this treatment on my knees? I am in Western Colorado but could travel around the US no problem

I have very thin cartilage in both, much worse in left. Have had several meniscus tears in left one but after 1st one I got smart and no more surgeries; conservative DIY return to function.

    Thank you

    To SunnySky.

Have you had your Transferrin Saturation and Serum Ferritin levels tested? Hemochromatosis may be good to investigate as it can cause many other problems. Genetic testing can be done for this.

I forgot to mention in my earlier comment, my Dr suggested I look into ozone and/or hydrogen peroxide therapy for my MS late 2014. Of course, I had no idea where to find this at the time. Plus, I just filed a long term disability claim and then was laid off work four days later. Nice, huh? Now money was/is an issue. All this due to a bad MS exacerbation, spring 2014, that still leaves me not fully recovered with function/strength/dexterity of my dominant arm/hand/fingers.

My situation is complicated by a B6 toxicity lab 10/2015–sure wish this had been tested four years prior when I began having numb feet. Now it’s going on over five years. I understand it can take years, if ever, to recover from nerve damage caused by B6 toxicity.

Lastly, my recent iron labs are high, so maybe all this inflammation comes from that–even from the spring 2014 flare. Such a mess, I am, but maybe a combination of blood donation (to reduce iron) and ozone therapy can help. Oh, and I had a meniscus repair, late October 2014.

Any thoughts relative to this to consider, Dr. Brownstein, are much appreciated.
    Thank you.

Just received the book, Hooray!– but yet to read it…. busy holidays!

Meanwhile, I just came across the following and wonder if this has anythi anything to do with ozone therapy:
    http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0197458014003571

I recently discovered my iron levels are too high, despite donating blood August and October 2016.
P.S.- diagnosed with MS, April 1990.

    Any particular thoughts?
    TIA!

One of my Alt physicians advises some of his patients use Oxygen Concentrators for cardiac issues. Now, one needs an Rx but it’s a cheap alternative to the HOC.

    Deana:

I’d certainly like to hear Dr. B’s answer! My wife and I have received both prolo and PRP injections for our joints. I have
meniscus tears. After I read the docs piece on Ozone, it makes me wonder if it was being withheld for more expensive treatment options? Prolo and PRP injections have definitely helped but it may just be a Band-Aid fix; depending on the specific condition and its severity.

I have not done PRP. I have used human growth hormone into joints with success. As for prolotherapy, I have not done that either. Ozone has worked extremely well for me.

This reminds me of all the benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy but without the hassle of the chamber, time, and I would imagine, the cost. What is the cost to the patient with this? Is it covered by insurance? Thanks for this useful information.

My doctor is advocating prolotherapy for my knee, and says it’s similar to ozone. Is this true?

My acupuncturist offers ozone and some Alternative doctors. Ask at a Health food store for the name of someone who helps with ozone. Ozone may help kill Lyme and infections as it raises oxygen in the brain/body. It is awesome help…cleared the fog out of my brain and I could think clearly again. Ozone helps my precancer and scars go away. Ozone is awesome and doesn’t hurt and only helps. It can be put in the sinuses/ear/used in acupuncture/used in a sauna with the head sticking out/put in the vagina which gets the ozone to all parts of the brain/body. Zyto scans show infections and how organs are working. I can see the progress of the ozone on the Zyto scan and also see the progress during/after each ozone which lasts about 4 days and use herbs etc. on the other days. A person can do 2 ozone treatments a week if they want.

I am glad you wrote this book. Ozone is awesome and you can’t become resistant to it.

I think ozone may help, but correcting nutrient deficiencies can help as well.

I had a tooth infected up to my eye socket. I skipped the antibiotics and had a shot of Ozone. Worked like a charm and the bone re-grew! Great stuff!
