In July, 2018, The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) released a policy statement titled, Food Additives and Child Health. (1) The report begins by stating, “Our purposes with this policy statement and its accompanying technical report are to review and highlight emerging child health concerns related to the use of colorings, flavorings, and chemicals deliberately added to food during processing (direct food additives) as well as substances in food contact materials, including adhesives, dyes, coatings, paper, paperboard, plastic, and other polymers, which may contaminate food as part of packaging or manufacturing equipment (indirect food additives); to make reasonable recommendations that the pediatrician might be able to adopt into the guidance provided during pediatric visits; and to propose urgently needed reforms to the current regulatory process at the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for food additives. Concern regarding food additives has increased in the past 2 decades, in part because of studies in which authors document endocrine disruption and other adverse health effects.”
The paper further explains that, “Regulation and oversight of many food additives is inadequate because of several key problems in the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. Current requirements for a “generally recognized as safe” (GRAS) designation are insufficient to ensure the safety of food additives and do not contain sufficient protections against conflict of interest. Additionally, the FDA does not have adequate authority to acquire data on chemicals on the market or reassess their safety for human health. These are critical weaknesses in the current regulatory system for food additives. Data about health effects of food additives on infants and children are limited or missing.”
Folks, I have been lecturing and writing about these same issues for over 25 years. I am glad the AAP has finally come out of the closet to address this issue. (Editor’s note: This should have been addressed decades ago.)
However, one important subject that the AAP doesn’t address is the toxins in pediatric vaccines. Mercury, the second most dangerous substance known to mankind is still in childhood vaccinations–influenza, meningitis, HIB, Tdap, and Td; aluminum, a neurotoxin, is in a plethora of vaccines including hepatitis A and B, DTaP, Td, HIB, HPV; formaldehyde a known carcinogen is found in DTaP, Td, Hepatis A, Hib, influenza, and Tdap. There are other toxic substances in many different vaccines.
The AAP is correct; we need to address lax safety issues with food additives. However, it is long overdue for the AAP to address the elephant in the room; toxic additives in childhood vaccines.
Our children are the most vaccinated young people on the planet. Unfortunately, our children are the sickest when compared to any major Western country. We have more autoimmune disease, cancer, chronic illnesses and obesity than any other population. When vaccinated children are compared to unvaccinated children, vaccinated children have significantly more chronic diseases including neurodevelopmental disorders. (2)
We don’t need more toxins in our food or vaccines. We need an honest discussion and debate about how to remove these toxic elements from our children.
Let’s address all the issues that are making our kids sick and vaccines should be part of that discussion.

Thirty Four years of educating about food, plant based nutrition, reversing disease and we are still here? The younger generations are largely raised on food without minerals, enzymes and it shows!
Every other person is either obese, has a diagnosis or more than one, and is taking drugs dispensed from “the doctor.”
I do my best to educate but they are trained to seek “credentials,” over competence today? The Doctor has become their God checking and treating them is now enforced with a strong and slanted legalistic zeal!
I have listened, stabilized, informed about diet, plant based, detoxified as an expert, hair tested, and helped people reverse disease, prevent problems and handle things they were told were impossible, including a diagnosis myself 10 years ago wrongly presented to me: ovarian carcinoma all their proof was lined up: CA124, CT Scan, and Laproscopic exam, what a hoax.
Reversing often entailed education, detoxification that people had never done, and never heard of, but it works!
Coaching has to be often or people “fall off,” as everything “out there,” is a set up in all convenience stores, pizza parlors, and nearly all restaurants, it is a rarity to find real food anywhere unless people are shown how to shop, what to do and what equipment to have, which is why I am soon, launching my course, that is easy and shows people how to be plant based for life!
I LOVE Your medicine, your outlook and all! I appreciate you! Share you and we need more Doctors that I quote and cite in my second book: Detox & Heal Your Thyroid thanks to finding you!

One thing we should be able to work together and agree on — we need to stop subsidizing all the processed foods that really generate the majority of modern maladies. And why not provide tax incentives to grow healthy whole foods without toxic chemicals? This would be a much better idea than the current covert food / drug / vaccine policy of “poison to the people”!
People simply need to shop for foods that are unprocessed and natural and cook from scratch. So many foods contain additives and once you know what to avoid, it becomes easier to shop. Most frozen dinners and boxed items on the selves are full of additives and preservatives.
Good luck with trying to get toxic additives removed from childhood vaccines! How about stop getting the damn vaccinations? ………
Is the “force” that Mary mentions referring to school admissions? How about stop going to government (read “toxic”) schools! ………
There are other (IMO better) options for educating children. Forget about government (and you’ll be doing unto government as they have done to you)!
One thing I think we can all agree on is that government does not love you or your children. One question you might want to consider is do you love your self and your children enough to forget about toxic government and begin transitioning toward self-sufficiency.
Is “force” referring to doctors? Any doctor conducting their business under the pressure of governmental threat, duress, coercion, fraud and usurpation is toxic to you and your children! If you think you have to have a doctor much of that will change if you stop going to government schools.
The point here is clarify what the source of the “force” is and reevaluate your reliance upon that. Also consider reading the Declaration of Independence as your basis for finally claiming your full freedom from government.
In the AAP statement, we read, “Additionally, the FDA does not have adequate authority to acquire data on chemicals on the market or reassess their safety for human health. These are critical weaknesses in the current regulatory system for food additives.”
It’s nice that the AAP is addressing this important issue. But I don’t know that the FDA is reliable to do the job with the revolving door between the FDA and industry. The FDA certainly has not done a good job with dangerous drugs. The swamp has not been drained.
You are correct. The swamp has enlarged.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

As long as they have virtually NO liability for vaccine damages, the CDC, major vaccine marketer and developer, and all will continue to develop MORE & MORE. The other Federal agencies are in cahoots and physicians are afraid to blow the whistle. Remember those whose careers have been destroyed? Even Dr. Sears in California is receiving criticism for attempting to protect his patients.
Wish the Supreme Court would invalidate ALL mandatory vaccine programs since they determined that they are ALL dangerous. Why are we being forced to receive this type of damage under force????
Mary,
Signing that law indemnifying the Pharma vaccine manufacturers was the biggest President Reagan made.
That law should be repealed now. Congress could do that if we push hard enough.
