The main stream media and the rest of the Powers-That-Be have been leading the charge that we have a measles epidemic this year. You would think that tens of thousands must be infected and dying from measles. Well, you would think wrong. According to the CDC, from January 1 to April 11, 2019 there have been 555 cases of measles across the US. Keep in mind, there are over 323,000,000 citizens in the US. In 2010 there were 667 cases of measles. And, in 2010, there was no national emergency called with draconian, criminal penalties for the failure to vaccinate against measles.
Is measles contagious? Of course it is. Is measles deadly? Of course it is, but not in the USA for the vast majority of us. In fact, death from measles declined by over 99%–from the early 20th Century–BEFORE the measles vaccine was introduced in 1963. In fact, there has been only one death from measles reported over the last 15 years.[i] What about that death? It occurred in a woman who was on immunosuppressive drugs. And, the woman had been vaccinated as a child. The measles infection was discovered on autopsy.
The mainstream media (MSM) would have you believe that we have a national emergency on our hands. I don’t think we have a national emergency on our hands with measles, but we may have one with mumps.
Mumps is part of the MMR—measles, mumps, and rubella–vaccine. You might think that the MMR vaccine is very effective against preventing infection from mumps. Well, you would only think that if you have not been reading about the problems with the mumps part of the MMR vaccine. And, it is hard to read about it since the MSM does not cover it.
What the MSM fails to tell you is that Merck, part of the Big Pharma vaccine cartel, has been in Federal Court since 2010 on fraud charges in conjunction with the mumps vaccine.[ii] You see, two Merck employees have assumed whistleblower status and accused Merck of falsifying MMR vaccine data to make the mumps part of the vaccine look much more efficacious than it really is. If the claims against Merck are true, than you would expect a resurgence of mumps infection–and that is what has happened. Studies have consistently shown that mumps antibodies wane much quicker as compared to measles and rubella antibodies after MMR vaccination.[iii]
Guess what? We have a major resurgence of mumps infections—IN FULLY VACCINATED PEOPLE! From January 1 to March 29, 2019, there have been 426 mumps infections reported to the CDC. In 2016-2017 there were nearly 12,000 cases reported.[iv] For comparison, in 2016-2017, there were 206 cases of measles reported to the CDC.[v] The mumps outbreaks included schools, universities, athletic teams, church groups, workplaces, and large parties and events. And, nearly everyone involved has BEEN FULLY VACCINATED!
In 2015-2016 an outbreak of mumps occurred at the University of Iowa.[vi] 301 cases were identified. Seven percent of the students had serious complications from mumps—and all WERE FULLY IMMUNIZED WITH AT LEAST 2 DOSES OF MMR VACCINE. Five percent suffered with orchitis (painful swelling of the testicles that can result in sterilization). Three suffered with transient hearing loss, two of mastitis, and one from meningitis.
Can mumps cause serious problems? Of course it can. It is much more problematic when it occurs in older ages. The reason we are now seeing mumps in young adults, instead of young children, is because of the failure of the mumps vaccine to provide long-term immunity. The mumps vaccine has limited efficacy and its effects wear off quickly. Therefore, the use of the mumps vaccine could be predicted to delay people becoming ill with mumps until adulthood.
That is exactly what we are experiencing.
Folks, the MMR vaccine should have never been approved. It was never properly tested against a placebo just like nearly every other vaccine on the market. There were concerns that combining three live virus vaccines (measles, mumps, and rubella) together might cause an increase in adverse effects. There are thousands of reports of adverse effects from the MMR vaccine. Why anyone would think that combining three live virus vaccines together in one shot is safe is beyond me.
But, I digress. Let’s go back to the mumps portion of the MMR vaccine. If the FDA, HHS, CDC and the US Congress were truly working for us, there would have been Congressional hearings about the safety and efficacy of the MMR vaccine and the MMR vaccine would have been recalled. Let me remind you that a senior CDC scientist, Dr. William Thompson, claimed whistle-blower status over 4.5 years ago by issuing a statement that he and his fellow colleagues altered, hid, and threw out data that showed a direct association between the MMR vaccine and autism.[vii] I have written about this debacle many times.
So, the Powers-That-Be want us to believe that we need Martial law powers to force vaccination for the measles epidemic.
Where is the outrage for tens of thousands of cases of mumps infections? Did you know that we have a US Navy warship, The USS Fort McHenry, that is currently quarantined in the Persian Gulf for…an outbreak of mumps in fully vaccinated US sailors.[viii]
Where is the outrage over a quarantined US Naval vessel?
Forget the outrage, where are the MSM articles about the fraud and failure of the mumps portion of the MMR vaccine?
The MSM wants anti-vaccine talk silenced. Silence will only serve the purpose of allowing the Big Pharma vaccine cartel to continue manufacturing and promoting ineffective and toxic vaccine products. Let me remind the MSM that you are there to act as a check and a balance to the US Government, corporate interests and Big Pharma. Your silence on these issues allows vaccine tragedies to continue and continue they will.
What can you do? EDUCATE yourself about vaccines. Know how effective they are and what is in them. Do NOT rely on the MSM for your information. Only then can you make the right decision for you and your family.

I had measles mumps whooping and pox as a kid. None were too memorable other than missing a few days of school.
So long as even the anti-vaccination doctors (and members of anti-vaccine orgs) continue to promote the idea that infectious-type diseases are “caused” merely by contact with an evil “germ”, we will get nowhere. There has to be a suitable substrate (weakened health caused by insufficient nutrition, contact with toxic substances, etc.) and if we don’t talk about that, we are wasting our time. We have to argue on our own terms, not theirs.
Interested persons might want to read Julian Scott’s book on child health entitled “Natural Medicine for Children” Pages 124-127 (Avon Books, 1990). His approach is partly based on old Chinese medicine. He makes some comments about vaccines. Here is an extract from the chapter on measles:
“…it is believed in Chinese medicine that measles represents the expulsion from the body of poisons accumulated during pregnancy. ” There’s much more and it’s good reading.
Not only did I “get” measles, every one of my classmates did, as well. We would return to school bragging about our particular set of dramatic symptoms. No one died or went to the hospitals.
From https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11869601
Vitamin A deficiency is a recognised risk factor for severe measles. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends administration of an oral dose of 200,000 IU (or 100,000 IU in infants) of vitamin A per day for two days to children with measles in areas where vitamin A deficiency may be present.
Now I ask you: why can’t we do the same here if it’s a vitamin A deficiency which is at the root of measles. Mind you, they’ll stick aluminum and mercury into the needle, too, so we would be back to Square One. And of course, they will say that the entire USA is NOT an area “where vitamin A deficiency may be present”. SMH.
Keep fighting and thank you, Dr. Brownstein. Your article on mumps – I didn’t know any of this – is great!
I was one of the young children who first received the measles vaccination from the state of New York in 1963. Keep in mind it was not mandatory at the time, it was still in the experimental stage. I received the drug, I did not receive the placebo. I did not receive the MMR vaccination until much later in life as it is required before attending university.
In the state of New York where young students are in close proximity to each other vaccination is the safest route to prevent an epidemic within the state’s school systems. I agree about other Big Pharma drugs not spoken about in this article but I can not agree on the measles vaccination. Yes, it was scary back in the day. I didn’t know where my parents were taking me and it turned out to be the state medical examiner’s office in Queens. Some children received the placebo and the contracted the measles. I was fortunate at age 5 to receive the vaccination and never experienced the disease. Yes drugs can be dangerous, but keep in mind not all are. The way your blog comes off it sounds like every drug is a dangerous method. Given by a reputable physician drugs can save lives. I believe in preventive medicine such as supplements and herbs but when the body does not respond a physician is necessary. -Cynthia
Chythia, You seem to ignore the fact that Dr. Brownstein proved that Measles is not dangerous and stopped killing people before the vaccine came out. I had Measles and so did my whole generation of all alive and healthy people. Not only that, but Measles is very hard on babies and, when mothers had the actual disease, the baby is born immunized. If she breastfeeds, that immunity carries longer. Today, women who were vaccinated as girls do not have that immunity any more and babies do get Measles. I think nature does a better job and the fear of disease create profit but not health.
Naomi,
You Go!

Dr. B., I just heard on the radio that when the measles vaccine came out in 1963 that for the first five years SOME of it was ineffective vaccine. So now they are telling folks that they can go get a blood test from their doctor to determine whether they need the measles vaccine or just go get the shot. Hmmmm. Sounds like a way to drum up more business….
Kathryn,
Not only was it ineffective back then, it was toxic. There were many problems associated with the early vaccine for measles.
DrB
Dr B –
I think you made a mistake in your article. Looking at your CDC reference, there were only 63 cases of measles in 2010. There were 667 cases in 2014. I agree with everything you say but we are comparing 3 1/2 months (Jan 1 to April 11th) with a WHOLE year which really isn’t comparable.
Elaine,
Since we are only in April, 2019 the only data we have for 2019 is now. My numbers are correct. Let’s see how the year ends up. There may be more or less than 2014. I never said we were comparing all of 2019 since that data is not available.

The hospital I work for in Lansing, Michigan has an e-mail every day labeled __________ (name of hospital) News Break. I found this in there today as one of the events to attend. We all know what this will be about. Very scary indeed.!!!!!
Lunch and Learn: Vaccine Myths
Wednesday, April 24 | Noon to 1 p.m.
Conference Room A
Bring your own lunch and listen while Sarah Herbert, a pharmacy student from Ferris State University, shines a light on common myths associated with vaccines. There are a lot of questions and concerns regarding vaccinations and the risks and benefits associated with them. Join her while she debunks some of the most frequently asked questions about vaccines.
Thank you Dr. Brownstein for your corage and for standing agains this crime agains humanity that keeps rolling!
I too had the measles, mumps, and chicken pox as a child, without any long-term effects, having been born way before the vaccinations became available. The data clearly show that the human body can handle these diseases when young. We need to go back to common sense and stop relying on pharmaceutical companies to save us!
But letting the public know this will only result in doubling the number of shots in the schedule.
I agree with Margie. I am 76 years old and grew up in NW Ohio. Our local school system did not have kindergarten at that time, so when I went to first grade I was only five years of age and was exposed to measles, mumps and chicken pox that first year. It was not a big deal, and conferred lifetime immunity. I know of parents who deliberately exposed their children, just to get it over with. Now, though, us oldsters need to take the shingles vaccine, because of the prior exposure to the chicken pox virus.
When I was in nurse’s training, we did our pediatric rotation at Children’s Hospital in Columbus and I remember one patient with a rare reaction to measles, but overall, I believe that your own body’s natural immunity is much preferable.
“(C)onferred lifetime immunity” only occured with the youngster exposures and not the oldsters one?
Bill, if you were exposed to the virus that causes chicken pox you may be susceptible to develop shingles in later life, because the virus can be dormant for many years without causing any problem. If you did have chicken pox in your youth, it is now recommended that you receive a two dose vaccination to ward off shingles. At this time, for some reason, there is a shortage in the production. If you can find it, get started on the first dose, at least.
My husband and I were on a months-long list at our Costco pharmacy for the first shot and now have been waiting again for them to call us when our turn comes for the second one. We check every once in a while to make sure that they haven’t forgotten us and the last time we were told that another pharmacy might have received an order, but we didn’t pursue it that day, for some reason.
By the way kids today are routinely vaccinated for chicken pox, so hopefully they can avoid shingles in the first place, not like us.
Karen,
Vaccinated kids can still develop shingles.

There is a freedom-promoting economics/political science podcast I have listened to this winter. Several times, the subject of vaccines came up. I wanted to suggest your website to them, but wasn’t sure how to contact them. When I found an e-mail address, I procrastinated until just now, when I received the e-mail with this blog link.
I have just finished sending them an e-mail with a link to your blog post, also suggesting that you might even be willing to do an interview on this topic. Just wanted to give you a heads-up. A recent article on that website about vaccines resulted in more comments than I have ever seen on any other article, by far. Well over a thousand. It is a hot topic, and really gets people going. I hope they will contact you and that you will be able to talk with them.
Here is the article I mentioned, if anyone wishes to read it. I see there are now over 2000 comments on the article. Some of the debate was quite heated. https://fee.org/articles/libertarians-for-forced-vaccinations/
Greetings Dr. Brownstein, I am completely in agreement with you on all the vaccines on the market. I’m not saying all are bad. The news media never reports the truth . When i was a child my brothers & I all got the measles, mumps, and chicken pox, even our cousins who lived next store, Sure we were sick , the Dr. who came to our house said, ” keep the shades down. Mom wiped us down when we had the fever. made sure we had home made chicken soup, lots of water, and warm baths. After 2 wks. everyone went back to school. +Our sister who is 9 yrs older never caught anything. Love to read your blog, Thank you.
You can take mega dose vitamin C for all diseases that have vaccines and those that don’t.
I am 71 years old. There was no such vaccine. The only vaccines we had were polio and smallpox to my knowledge. ALL of us kids at my school, church, other schools, my entire City and State (Michigan) got the MEASLES and OMG guess what? Not a one of us died from it. We EXPECTED to get it. And we were then immune to it for life! The mumps and chicken pox were the same thing. However, I still to this day have not had the mumps, even though being exposed to it multiple times. And many of us never did get them. I am really seriously wondering why my generation is not taking a stand on this issue and making a huge stink with the media. We are the ones that lived through it, that know the truth, and are the living proof that vaccine is not necessary!!!!
Margie,
YOU GO! Take a stand and make your voice heard–we all need it!
DrB
I agree with everything you have to say here, with the exception of “It was never properly tested against a placebo just like nearly every other vaccine on the market. “. Actually, all of the vaccines in the childhood schedule have never been tested against a placebo. Del Bigtree and Robert Kennedy Jr. have found from multiple FOIA requests that the vaccines in the childhood schedule are either compared to a prior version of the vaccine as the “placebo” or adjuvants found in the vaccines such as aluminum. They have never been tested against an inert placebo such as saline
Sarah,
A test against an adjuvant is NOT a test against a placebo. They may call it that, but it is not.
DrB
Yes, Margie, as Dr. B has said, we all need your voice now! I, too, am wondering where the other experienced voices are. Those who have lived through it and know the truth about the hype and hysteria are needed now to set the record straight. Thank YOU for being one of those voices.
Margie, some of us are taking a stand. I, too, am 71 and have fallen down the ‘vaccine hole” – once you find out how bad they really are, you can’t climb back out of the hole and you want to tell everyone. However, many won’t even listen – it’s such a shame. I have resorted to planting a seed with people and letting it go at that. Hopefully they will awake at some point.
Thanks for this. I have not heard any of this anywhere.
I was fully-vaccinated as was my brother (we are 5 years apart in age), which included the MMR. My brother got mumps at the age of 4 and it destroyed the enamel on his then-forming adult teeth. In my 20s, I got whooping cough. It was terribly painful, but I had no lasting effects. IMO, at this point, a healthy person has a better chance of just naturally fighting off these diseases than relying upon the pharmaceutical companies and their fraudulent products.
