    Alopecia

Is it true that HCG helps in preventing hair loss? I have a friend who has alopecia and we have been trying a lot of products in the market that do not keep their promises. The poor girl is now losing hope. I pray you guys can help us. Thank you in advance.

I am not really sure if hcg helps cure alopecia but with some articles I have read, hcg does not cause it wholly. I mean because of the weight loss, our hair is easier to fall, most especially if you lose weight quickly. It is kinda like a side effect.

What I know is that hair loss is a side effect of hcg but alopecia? Isn't it that you are supposed to be born with it or something? If you were born with hormonal issues, you are most likely to have alopecia. I am not sure though if it helps cure it but the best way to prevent it is by eating protein and iron.

I do not think it prevents hair loss as it is actually a side effect. If the hair loss is too imminent, I'd rather you choose an herbal shampoo that promises hair growth. Or ask your friend if she could welcome hair implants. I pity your friend and I wish her the best of luck!

Hair loss is not side effect from HCG. It is side effect of bad diet that lacks essential nutrients..
I suggest that if your friend have decided to try HCG diet then at least take some multi vitamin supplement

What I know is that alopecia is genetic. Most of us men in the family have suffered hair loss after our mid 30s, from my great-great grandfather to me. I have tried shampoo and other products that promise hair growth but I make sure I maintain a healthy diet. If it gets worse though, I might consider hair implants.

I am not sure if it does but I agree that alopecia is hereditary. Let an expert check on your friend as they may give you the best cure for it. It may also depend on your friend's skin sensitivity. If she scratches her scalp most of the time, it is unhealthy. She needs a lot of protein to maintain the hair. Good luck!

I'm not sure if HCG doea the opposite and instead of helping to prevent hair loss, or actually is one of the side effects, but either way, I always thought that hair loss could be put down to not getting the right diet and a lack of the right vitamins, and alopecia was hereditary?

I'd probably look into it more along them lines before considering HCG as a cure?

I have read somewhere that to some, hair loss is actually an effect when you use hcg. But I am not really sure about it because I haven't read anything else other than that one. I guess it's within your friend's family gene pool that she got it. My whole family got thick hair and I feel like my hair lessen a bit when I got pregnant but that is natural.

I never heard that loss of hair could be caused by peptides, at the same time that is why trials and further trials are made, to verify the effects on humans and if the side effects can harm us.

As they said I also knew that Alopecia can be inherited. If it is really in your genes you cannot prevent it from happening to you. Let a medical practitioner who specializes with regards to hair loss problem brought by Alopecia diagnose your friend. They will tell her what it is all about and can give her some medication or preventive measures so that it will not get worse.

Yes, alopecia can be inherited. There are several reasons for hair loss, and pregnancy and giving birth are among them. Physical stress or trauma is another top reason for losing hair, but all these causes can't cause permanent thinning of the hair. The hair will eventually grow back after the body recovers.

I think its better to consult with a good specialist before trying any products from the market, there are some common reasons of having hairloss even during menstrual period some suffer from hairloss as they go through stress because of heavy menstrual cramps hence it is always good to consult with the doctor, you can also suggest her to use cup menstruelle during periods with the doctors recommendation so that her menstrual hygiene is also maintained, check it from cupissima.com

Alopecia is an autoimmune disease. It happens when the immune system mistakenly attacks our hair follicles. Peptides are known to improve hair, but I don't think it can help when it comes to this kind of disease. Here are the appropriate treatments for this type of disease:

Corticosteroids: Anti-inflammatory drugs that are prescribed for autoimmune diseases. Corticosteroids can be given as an injection into the scalp or other areas, orally (as a pill), or applied topically (rubbed into the skin) as an ointment, cream, or foam. Response to therapy may be gradual.

Topical contact allergens or sensitizers: This type of therapy may be used if the hair loss is widespread or if it recurs. The inflammation that the treatments cause may promote hair regrowth. Another name for this treatment is topical immunotherapy.

Rogaine (minoxidil): This topical drug is already used as a treatment for pattern baldness. It usually takes about 12 weeks of treatment with Rogaine before hair begins to grow. Results can be disappointing.
