I've been researching Melanotan-II for about a week now and am hoping to get some this weekend! I have veerry light skin and plan on taking low doses (.25mg).I just have some questions/concerns I'd like to share about the side effects before I make my purchase.
-I know the most prevalent side effects of M-II are nausea and head/stomach aching as well as darkening of moles/freckles. But recently I had found some people who have complained about liver damage and other severe side effects such as this, are these caused by the M-II? Is the darkening of moles caused by M-II cancerous? I have also seen some news outlets say it's very dangerous, though I know its not unlike them to stretch and exaggerate the truth...
- I also have seen some mixed opinions about whether you need UV exposure or not; I know using a tanning bed or natural sun accelerates the process but is it essential for the M-II to work?
- Would you mind sharing any positive or negative experiences? I just want to know everything I can before I start using M-II!* ]
Thanks!
Thanks for taking the time to research a bit into the peptide!
If you haven't already I'd suggest taking a quick read though our guide, it has lots of helpful info there.
There aren't any studies showing liver damage, and I doubt the reports are MT2 related. If they are then they were seriously overdosing, most likely well over 1mg/day.
As to the nausea and head/stomach aches, they are also normally caused by overdosing, but some people do experience them at low dosage, it is rare.
The moles can become cancerous, just as with normal tanning, again it's rare. For peace of mind, have a visual examination as often as possible, take pictures if you like to compare. You're looking mainly for growing (including; flat to raised - and in size) or shape changing moles. I usually look each time I go to the sunbeds and take pictures every other visit.
Which leads me on to;
You can get an OK tan without much UV exposure. However, you need to take it very slow - many people report a greying/yellowing of the skin when using purely MT2 from pale.
I try to get to the beds twice a week when building my tan, normally only a quick visit of about 6 minutes. You have to know your limits and remember never to burn.
And I've had a very positive experience with MT2, before I could barely tan and now I can. The good thing is that once you tan once it's easier to tan subsequent times!
I've had daily 1 mg dosages for a long long time with regular check ups and no damage. I think "well over 1 mg" means those reports of that person having taken 6 mg at a time. I think you can get used to dosages a bit over 1 mg. But of course 6 is a bit much.

Pretty much this exactly. When I first started a few years ago I was using 1mg/day and no damage.
I said 'well over' as I don't know an actual figure, but I know it's definitely way, way above that.
But as with pretty much anything, if you start slamming it into yourself you're bound to have issues - moderation is key. Same for vitamins, food, all drugs (even something so everyday as paracetamol or even cough syrup!), and even water if you consume enough can all be toxic and sometimes even fatal.
Thanks for replying so fast everyone! I just have one final question, with the needles in international units would .25mg be 2.5 IUs? Also, would any of you recommend taking such a low dosage?
If you mix with 1ml (100IU) of water then 250mcg would be 2.5IU.
If you mix with 2ml (200IU) of water then 250mcg would be 5IU.
That dosage is perfectly fine, personally I do 500mcg - however, many people on the forums here use 100-250mcg with good results.
I would recommend getting smaller needles though, 30 or 50 IU, or 0.3cc and 0.5cc respectively. As the scales are larger it's much easier to measure small doses.
