I started taking MT-2 two weeks ago. First 3 days 250mcg and then 500mcg. I've visited the tanning bed 4 times and my skin has already gotten amazingly tan. Just during the last few days I've noticed an insane amount of brown freckles/spots in my skin. My instinct is to abort treatment.

If it matters, I also have acne.

That is completely normal if that's what you are asking. The moles have always existed, however they lacked melanin which made them invisible. If you are concerned try lowering your doses next cycle if you intend to try again. Considering you've gotten nice results from relatively little MT II you could consider taking MT I instead to help limit the moles.

Well I'm glad to hear it's normal, but it's not very pretty. Will they fade away once I'm off the drug? If I were to take more, would the rest of my skin eventually catch up in color?
I was also wondering in hindsight whether it has a negative effect on acne? I read somewhere that it causes increased sebum production.

They will even out as you darken, just maintain your 500mcg dosage. They will also reduce as you stop - mine even faded as I went over to maintenance phase.
I suffer with pretty bad skin, and I find that the extra UV does me wonders. I've not noticed an increase production.
As Tom said they will generally fade into your tan. When you stop taking MT II they will begin to disappear, however I have heard that some may take a long time to completely fade(1 year+). Rest assured that they will not remain the pitch black color Melanotan II has made them.
As for acne, some users have reported their oil productions went up with Melanotan II. However, it's worth saying oil may not be the cause of YOUR specific acne. I suffered with horrible acne grade 6-12, nothing helped, washing my face, expensive topicals, two cycles of accutane, NOTHING. Then one day POOF, it all disappeared within 3 weeks. No idea why, other then hormones. Best day of my life.
It's worth saying Melanotan II may help your acne if you begin to frequent the sun beds or live in a sunny climate as UV can treat acne. The dark complexion you'll gain will also hide blemishes better than a fair one.

The anxiety you're experiencing at this stage is typical. My prediction is that soon you will come around and view your pigment as beautiful. Of course your skin tone will fade in time, however I would continue on so that your skin catches up. Between the effect of UV and anti-inflammatory properties of the peptide, acne should reduce (increased oil production comes from dosing too much and/or poor hygiene). Good luck & let us know your decision at this crossroads you're at hellion!
Thanks for the helpful answers - you're correct that I was getting pretty anxious. I haven't been taking it for the last few days. I'm attaching these images to show you what I mean (click for higher res - on the facial shot I drew arrows to the ones that are sunspots and not acne). Before treatment my pigment was completely even, and now it's all freckly. Another possibility is that I overdid it with the tanning too much and too soon. But that's the way I would've tanned if I wasn't on MT-2.
Now, it doesn't look that bad and if I were to believe that in the end my skin will look better, I have the courage to keep on. With some drugs it gets worse before it gets better. I just wanna make sure it won't keep getting more uneven to the point where I look like a dalmatian* ;D.
UV radiation really helps with my acne, especially since I live in a climate where the winters are dark and freezing. The cold air also worsens my skin. I have decided to go on Accutane, which will mean that I have to be careful with tanning. My skin is, I would say type 2.
Thanks for the photos. I do not feel you overdid it. Going forward I would continue with 250mcg and below dosages of melanotan...and absolutely reconsider usage of accutane. Hopeful Alex can provide his .02 on the matter.

I tend to agree with Melanotan on the low doses, I much prefer people to start on lower doses and then kick it up a notch if needed rather than start on high doses and then find out that half the dose was just as effective.
As for accutane, there's really not much for me to say that isn't widely available on the internet due to how much it is prescribed these days. Be careful with the sun, drink more than 1+ gallon a water a day, try not to pick at your acne as your skin is more prone to scarring due to the dryness, etc. Be sure to get chapstick and a GOOD moisturizer. Also consider switching to head and shoulders: Refresh while on it as well. Acne forums and reddit/skincareaddiction are great places for info on these matters. The only other thing I might say is that cutting out milk and dairy got rid of 90% of my acne and it comes back if i begin consuming it as well as not masturbating as much. Just thought I'd thrown it in there.
So would you recommend me to keep using it at like 250 mcg per day then? What kind of results can I expect at that dose compared to just tanning alone? I don't really have good before/after pics, but I'm already a lot more tan than I was, and a gym buddy that I see several times a week even commented that I've gotten some color. I'd like to be a whole lot darker though, since it would mask the acne better too.
I will look into the acne problem from other sources. So far it seems the MT-2 did nothing to affect it, neither good nor bad.

Do you want to get darker? Keep doing a .250mcg every day or every other day until your comfortable with how dark you are then we move onto the maintenance part. If after awhile you still want to get darker and .250 isn't doing it, then go onto .5mcg. Wouldn't recommend going past that. Also, the acne problem isn't going to be affected in the relatively short time you've been visiting the sunbeds. Give it a month or two.

Yeah, I do. I'm using the tanning bed for 12 mins 2x a week because I read somewhere that that's a relatively safe "dose".

I can't speak for what is and what isn't when talking about tanning beds, I don't use them. It's worth saying that you may note tan quite as fast if your dosing .250mcg compared to .5mcg but you will still get pretty dark. As I said before, if you feel like your skin has plateaued and you still want to get darker up the dose to .5mcg or begin frequenting the beds a bit more.

That sounds like a plan. How do I know if my skin has plateaued? It seems that I got some really quick initial results, but right now it seems like the color's coming in pretty slow. I think I burned a little during my initial visits to the tanning bed, and that's what caused me to appear really dark, but it faded away quickly.
Wouldn't it be better to be on 500mcg and tan less, as compared to 250mcg and tanning more? How about taking two shots of 250mcg per day - one in the morning and one at night? Then again I'm happy with the current 250mcg dose even if it takes time to get where I want. I know I tend to be over-analytical.

Your skin has plateaued when you can't get any darker, really the only way to tell is visually. It's really your choice on what to do dosage wise, .500mcg will cause rapid tanning but has a higher risk of side effects, .250mcg will be slower and need more UV rays and you probably won't get as dark in the end as .500mcg will get you.Personally, I tend to advise people to take .250mcg for a month or two just to see where it will get them before kicking it up to .5mcg unless they are skin type 1. If you find .250mcg is plenty for you then great, minimal side effects and you're happy with your complexion. If you want to get darker then you can always kick it up a notch but you'll never know how much works for you unless you start out with low doses.
Also, .250mcg twice a day would be considered the equivalent of taking .5mcg in terms of how it affects tanning and moles/freckles. However, it may help avoid the more severe nausea/flushing that higher doses can cause.

Sounds like a good plan. I keep forgetting I've only been doing it for 3 weeks now.
