My experiences have not been very memorable on Melanotan 1.* I recall a sunburn (to which would not have happened had I taken MT-2) and seeing some pigment.* Generally was not able to tan on Melanotan 1 as a skin type I
Hey Chris - I had great success with M-1.* * Last February when I first got learned about Melanotan through your site I basically started "stockpiling" M-1 in my system (at that time, M-2 freaked me out a little, though I use it now). Anyway, after starting slow, I got on a regimen of taking 1MG of M-1 every other day or so for about two months before I exposed myself to any UV.* Now, I am a skin Type 2 person who usually burns on the face/chest EVERY time.* Well, when I went out in the sun or went to the tanning salon that DID NOT happen - I actually got a nice tan on both my face and chest (as well as the rest of my body) -- it was a revelation. So, in sum, yes - M-1 worked for me, but I think it was because I spent a good deal of time elevating my melanin levels before I got any UV.* M-2 just works so much faster, plus I can take a bigger dose at certain times and get the double benefit of melanin boost and libido boost
I have thought lately about getting M-1 again though, because I seem to recall it not having a dramatic nausea effect on me like M-2 can have at times. Any thoughts on this Chris?* (I know you recommend antihistamines but I'm not big on that).
Thanks for still spreading the word Chris!
Best,
Micah

Yeah, I try not to take anti-histamines either now...just experimented a little a few years ago.* MT-1 makes me nauseated for a brief moment, similar to MT-2...but yeah, my thoughts/experience mirrors yours.* Great info on your Melanotan experience btw!
Awhile back, I would have thought MT-1 would have increased in popularity - it has not from all I can interpret.*
I am going to try to see how little MT-2 I can get away with using, while protecting my skin.* Got burned recently, hopefully learned my lesson (have not had a sunburn in years).*
There were a few times I would go ahead and add MT-1 injections interchangeably with MT-2.* Hard to attribute the results...but both peptides can compliment each other.* Not always do you want the desire/aphrodisiac from Melanotan 2...or the nausea.* Planning around your lifestyle and UV exposure makes for plenty of opportune MT-1 or MT-2 or both * Tanning injections, sounds a little ridiculous...but what a game changer for those who cannot naturally have their skin exposed to UVR*
* Just like to start off saying, "very informative site." You have done a fantastic job answering questions and concerns about Melanotan. I am 48 and have been using tanning beds religiously for 20 years and am paying for it now. I tanned well using the high pressure beds.* My skin has lost alot of its elasticity and I have alot of freckles. I have red hair and fair skin (Type I). I would like to have some color, not a savage tan by any means. What is your advice on type of Melanotan (1 or 2) and how should I start out slowly with the dosage? (I weigh 120 lbs). I will not be using a tanning bed again so if I use the sun will it jump start my tan?

Very interesting background Kristy, welcome!* The combination of your skin type I, history/exposure to UVR and age all are factors which I am happy you detailed -* excellent Melanotan candidate.* Goals would be to increase eumelanin production/concentration and see less sun - if Melanotan One can accomplish this, great!*
Melanotan could very well require a lot of patience and somewhere between 80-100mg to see results (MT-1).* In comparison, MT-2 should give results with 20-30mg.* The problem with jumping the gun and going straight to Melanotan II would be sun damage variable.* Coloring sun damaged skin a desirable tone can be tricky.* Another challenge is that melanotan peptides in general are poor sunless tanners.*
If you do pursue Melanotan, my first recommendation would be to start out on .25mg Melanotan One, .5mg, .75mg, 1mg...dosing every day or every other day works to acclimate to the melanocyte stimulation.* Dosing low (and at bedtime) at the beginning will hopefully avoid any sick feelings.* The phototherapy portion of the equation will be to always protect your face...and see a little natural sunlight - be diligent and listen to your body.* A tan will sneak up fast and generally will be noticed by others... many Melanotan II users develop super-natural tans too fast making fools out of themselves (too many learn the hard way unfortunately)
* Could I just go with .25 or .5 instead of increasing or do I need to gradually increase the dosage? I want to go slow to see how the color looks because of the freckles. When I did tan in a high pressure bed I got a really good color. Does the melanotan color compare with the same color a tanning bed will give you?

The melanotan color compares, but supercharges the effect of UVR.* It is fine to continue with low dosing - in my experience and reading it requires more mg for results (as compared to Melanotan II).* Often comments/compliments/stories/feedback of Melanotan usage is that back from vacation glow...

If I go with I over II will my freckles be less prominent? Where on this forum is the best advice on mixing and dosing?
Thanks,

Yes, if you go with I over II your freckles will not be exposed to the super potent melanocyte stimulation.* Melanotan I targets just one receptor, the MC1R...and does less than MT-II as far as tanning
