I have developed slight alopecia in my facial hair. just a few spots, dunno if it's linked though.
I Went to the GP and he too considered the hair/white patches could be an immune response considering the hair follicles and melanocytes are affected by mt2. He said the body may have started to see them as foreign as they were changed so drastically for such a long time. He was more of the opinion though that it could be vitiligo, pityriasis alba or IGH. So no real help to be honest, but that was to be expected. He referred me to a specialist which i'll be visiting soon. I Told him about the mt2 usage obviously and he seemed very non judgmental and kind of open minded even about it, which i have to say took me be surprise! I have been off for a good while now and the symptoms have slowed down a good bit. but the white patches are extra noticable as my skin has taken on a really thin, shiny appearance. Not a good look. Wondering when it'll go back to normal pasty colour at this stage.
I too suffer from white patches on the skin although only on my arm and they've never spread anywhere else. Also the muscle twitches I get them aswell I actually find them quite funny when I can see twitching, for sure one of the most interesting and intriguing topics I've seen on this forum to date
How are things going? it's been a year. How are you spots now? have any gone back to normal?
I am currently having the same experience, minus the pains in joints etc. I have the same skin type and had successful on and off use of Melanotan over the last 9 years without typical sides. However 3 years ago i found a new supplier. The stuff was very easy to use, sickness was very minimal and i had a great tan before i left for a trip around Europe. During my trip my tan developed but 6 weeks in without further injections my melanocytes started failing on me. I put this down to the fact i wasn't using enough so i waited and the majority of white areas over the next 2-3 years came back to normal.
Anyways move forward to 7 months ago, i started using again, same supplier, low dosage. After a few months i found a few white spots pick up on my arm but nothing to serious so i continued thinking it's worth it. Over the last month things have gone out of control. I have IGH over my shoulders, back, arms, legs, few spots on chest, inside of my hands and now neck, one on my face that i can notice also. . I stopped last week and my arms are looking worse every day.
I went to the Dermo 4 days ago and he said that its is IGH, it hit me like a tonne of bricks. My days of normality are over, coming from skin type 1, its the worst news i could have. I'm devastated.
I have no doubt this is an immune response to Melanotan. The only thing i cannot rule out is whether it's a problem with my supplier or not.
