    Low BF injection site

Since starting the injections I've leaned out more and now the injections are somewhat painful. I have pretty low body fat. Where's the best spot to injection when you are lean? I also think I stick the needle in too slow. Aren't you supposed to stick it in quickly?

You can do IM injections if Subq is becoming a problem for you, if you are using new needle every time then IM injections in triceps or shoulder are painless.

You do want to go relatively fast, I've heard to put it in like a dart and that works well for me. If possible, you might consider a smaller and/or shorter needle as those tend to be less painful. And make sure you use a different part of your body every time so it doesn't get sore or inflamed! You want to rotate your injection sites. Hope that helps in some way!

    Hi Jake,

I have low BF and I do them in top of my glutes, rotating each side. I find after a hot shower or bath helps relax the muscle as well.

I also use BD insulin ultra fine 1ml 6mm 31 gauge needles. They are the smallest insulin needles and actually so tiny that you really don't feel anything go in. Suggest if you can get them to give them a try.

Thanks for the info. My current needles are 30 gauge and are 8mm in length.
